Your next holiday in Hong Kong!

0

Hong Kong, the city where you can never be bored! Once being part of the British colony, Hong Kong now has its independence since 1997. The weather and climate in Hong Kong is quite hot and humid, however being near the ocean means that there is a cool breeze that always passes through the city. Hong Kong has many beautiful beaches such as “Golden Beach”, “Big Wave Bay” and “St. Stephen’s Beach”. The “Golden Beach” is an artificial beach in Hong Kong, and the largest beach in the area of “TuenMun”. It is great to chill and to soak up some sun and maybe play some volleyball!

Some of the top sights to see include “Victoria Peak”, “Lin Heung Tea House” . “Victoria Peak” is somewhere that you have to see if you ever decide to visit Hong Kong. As the name suggests, it is on top of a peak! Take the tram up to the viewing area, where you can see Hong Kong from a different perspective while travelling up the steep hill – so remember to take your camera! “Lin Heung Tea House” (Fragrant Lotus in English) is definitely somewhere worth visiting! They do not speak and English here, so make sure you bring a long a local friend or you brush up on your Cantonese language skills! Here you can try out local delicacies such as the lotus paste buns or the delicious rice dumplings.

Something for the kids? Then Disneyland Hong Kong is just round the corner! Opened in September 2005, makes this a fairly new theme park in comparison to the Disneyland in California, and is a great way to spend one or a few of your days while in this amazing city. Hong Kong is one of the cities in the world with some of the highest skyscrapers. It has around 7650 skyscrapers – according to Emporis – with its tallest being 484metres, the “International Commerce Centre” (ICC).

After you have decided that you want to take a trip to this amazing city, then the next thing to think about is what type of accommodation you want to stay in. Whether it’s a hotel, hostel or a bed and breakfast in Hong Kong, you will have a brilliant time during your stay. So what are you waiting for? Book your next holiday to this exciting city and discover what it has to offer!

The Grand Hotel de la Minerve, Rome

0

With over 7-10 million tourists visiting Rome every year, you’d be right in thinking there must be thousands of different places to stay in this Italian capital. And with Rome being the largest city and the most populous city in the whole of Italy, most people would assume there would be tough to find a decent place to stay that isn’t overpriced. However, visitors who do their research beforehand and shop around for the best deal are much more likely to find the best options.

There are lots of 5 Star hotels in and around the centre of Rome but don’t be fooled by the rating. A lot of these hotels have earned these ratings in the past but standards have slipped since. As with most capital cities, there are a number of 5 star hotels that may loo the look the part, but are often given negative reviews by their customers because of the poor level of standard they receive during their stay. It seems there are a few hotels think they can hide behind their 5 star-rating and not have to worry about how they treat their visitors. If you are planning a trip to Rome and you want to make sure that the 5 star pries you will be paying will get you a luxury hotel, make sure you take a look at the reviews beforehand. But it’s not all bad news, there are still plenty of top class hotels that will make your stay as enjoyable and luxurious as you’d expect.

An example of one of these is the 5 star Grand Hotel de la Minerve. This beautifully decorated building is in a great central location, not too far from the historic ruins of Rome. Less than a ten minute walk away is the tourist spot of Piazza Navona, and one of Rome’s most iconic structures, The Pantheon. The Grand Hotel de la Minerve has been recognised as a luxury 5 star hotel since the 1700′s and is still able to offer a fantastic level of service to its customers to this day. The hotel has its own restaurant La Cesta, which is known for serving traditional Italian food from local suppliers as well as international options. If you are heading here in the warmer months, you might be lucky enough to dine on the amazing roof garden. Here you can take in superb views of the city in sunset to the melody of a grand piano.

With over 130 rooms to choose from stunning interiors and a level of customer service well above average, the Grand Hotel de la Minerve is the perfect choice for those looking to indulge a little. Plenty of visitors search around for the cheapest deal they can find on their flights and in turn, have a lot more to spend on their accommodation: A great way to spoil yourselves without breaking the bank.

BurjAlArab

Burj Al Arab Review

0

The Burj Al Arab or “Tower of the Arabs” once dubbed the “world’s only seven-star hotel”, needs little introduction.

The Building

The building itself is iconic: built to resemble the triangular sail of the dhow, a traditional Arabian sailing vessel, the Burj dominates the landscape at a massive 321 meters, set on its own man-made island 280m off the coast of Dubai.

The Location

The Burj is a five-minute drive from the enormous Mall of the Emirates and the Wild Wadi Water Park.

The Rooms

The rooms in the Burj Al Arab are famous worldwide. The Burj holds 28 double-story floors which accommodate 202 enormous bedroom suites. The smallest suite occupies an area of 169 square meters, the largest covers 780 square meters. Each suite comes with its own Jacuzzi, a vast reception area, a sweeping staircase up to your bedroom, and large windows showcasing the Dubai coastline.

The Facilities

The Burj is nothing if not ostentatious. Gold leaf is everywhere, there is even a giant fountain in the atrium, which projects water up to the roof. The “Skyview Bar” is suspended 200 meters up, offers incredible views, and is a unique spot for a cocktail or afternoon tea. “Junsui” (Japanese for pure) serves an array of Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, and Korean dishes, and also offers breathtaking views over the Arabian Gulf. Billed as having “the finest seafood in the world”, the Al Mahara restaurant is actually below ground and comes with a colossal aquarium. For those who enjoy being pampered, the Assawan Spa is sure not to disappoint with its commitment to being the “ultimate journey to wellbeing”.

The Service

As you can imagine the service is excellent. Each suite has a dedicated private butler. Guests can make use of the Burj’s veritable fleet of luxury cars, including chauffeur-driven Phantom Rolls Royces.

The Conclusion

The Burj is of course incredibly expensive, but if you wish to witness luxury without restraint, it simply has to be visited.

City Breaks – Short on Time, Long on Value

0

Who couldn’t use a short break from the grind of daily routines and activities?  Who wouldn’t plan a Friday off to add to a Saturday and Sunday to make a long escape weekend?  Almost everyone could with a little planning and the rewards can be well worth the effort.  Treat yourself to a little special “away-time” once and awhile and return to your daily life renewed and refreshed.  City breaks from Travel 247 offer a wide range of options and opportunities for your next get-away.

Hotels and tourism venues have embraced the city break trend by developing packages specifically for short-term vacationers.  In the UK, this enables those with an approaching bank holiday to plan trips with a focused theme and efficient use of time available.  In the US, where bank holidays are not the norm, a long three-day weekend can be directed towards maximum leisure and relaxation.

Due to their nature, city breaks benefit from advance planning – perhaps more than travel of longer duration. Want a three-day culinary extravaganza in the heart of Paris with no car required?  With 20 Parisian districts or arrondissements from which to chose, inadequate planning may find you in a hotel with closer walking proximity to museums or shopping instead of the restaurants and local pâtisserie you would prefer.

Maybe a short-stay trip to Geneva is more your style.  Chances are you’ll want an elegant hotel overlooking the harbor of Lake Geneva where you can watch Geneva’s Jet d’Eau water fountain or,  you may opt for hotels nearer the cobblestone streets of the Old Town.  For the ultimate “life-break” in this city, look for hotel spa packages combining facials and massages with detox and slimming programs, and other wellness treatments.

Plan your downtime wisely by taking advantage of city break packages to get the most out of your hard-earned leisure time.
